The performance horse in training has many biological functions which are vitamin e dependent and consistently require levels much higher than available from nature for maximum performance.

Vitamin e is essential for the carbohydrate and glycogen metabolism, antibody stimulation, synthesis of haemoglobin hormone and muscular function and for many other bodily demands faced by horses under the stress if training and competition. It is especially important for stallions and brood mares being Primed for reproduction and for the development of healthy progeny.

The horse in confinement (stabled, travelling, performing) is unable to process a high plant turnover everyday for the necessary influx of vitamin e. It cannot follow its natural free range grazing routine and suffers a large reduction in the variety and volume of live plant consumption.
